COVID-19 Notice
The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted the Mission’s operational services and has crippled our volunteer assistance, on how we operate and deliver services to our homeless and low-income clients.
Closing our Doors is Not An Option!
COVID-19, has impacted the delivery of our services to the homeless and low-income, that depend on Clara White Mission. We have transitioned our operations to ensure that we are able to continue to meet the daily need our essential services. We have installed a portable sink for clients to wash their hands before receiving their breakfast and we have transition from our dining room setting to “Hot Meals to Go” outside under our pavilion. We are serving up to 400 individuals daily.
For over 116 years, the Clara White Mission have helped Jacksonville’s homeless veterans and low-income gain a new perspective on life. The Mission’s one-stop community development center restores lives through our daily feeding, job training in culinary arts/janitorial environmental services, employment placement, case management, life skills, drop-in center, housing initiatives, and more. The continuum of these inter-related programs was established to support workforce development and assist chronically homeless clients prioritizing veterans to transition into independence and achieve self-sufficiency. These essential services are the first steps to a new beginning….of CHANCE, CHOICE and HOPE.
Together, “your time and gift is a game changer”, that will impact the quality of life immediately for the homeless and low income that depend on our services.
