Culinary Arts and Janitorial Program
The Clara White Mission's one-stop community development center restores and builds lives through our job training, employment placement and housing initiatives and more. Our 20-week (culinary) and 14-week (janitorial) curricula are designed to offer students an opportunity to practice their skills in an environment that will prepare them for a career in these industries. Our programs are for men and women 18 years of age and older. For more than 100 years, the Clara White Mission has helped Jacksonville’s homeless, veterans and ex-offenders gain a new perspective on Our transitional/permanent housing program provides housing to 36 male residents on-site, and coordinates off-campus housing for our female students.
Job Placement
For graduates of the culinary training
program, job placement services are based upon OCP certifications
and instructor recommendations specific to each graduate.
Placements are coordinated through the Clara White Mission's job
placement specialists, who develop and maintain relationships with
more than 40 restaurants/hotels which rely on Mission graduates as
source for qualified employees. 80% of program graduates are placed
into employment within 60 days of graduation. |
