A training cafe featuring an upscale menu, “Clara’s at the Cathedral” is
an outgrowth of Clara White’s Culinary Arts Program, providing students
with hands-on training in production, presentation and front of the
house restaurant service. Operated through collaboration between the
Clara White Mission and St. John’s Cathedral Church, the restaurant
offers a relaxed dining experience within the Cathedral’s historic
Taliaferro Hall, located in downtown Jacksonville at Duval and Market
Streets. “Clara’s” is open to the public each Friday from 11 a.m. to 1
p.m. All proceeds benefit the culinary school.
Mayor John Peyton Visits the Cafe'
It was an honor to have Mayor John Peyton pay a visit to Clara's at the
Cathedral Cafe. On Friday, September 7, Mayor Peyton along with Senator Betty
Holzendorf and husband King Holzendorf dined
and enjoyed the flavor of the Cafe.
The Mayor commented that the server, Mr. Rashon Allen, was very attentive and
professional. He plans to make a visit to the Cafe
and asked his staff to come and enjoy also.
We hope to see more of the Mayor and other City officials.
